No doubt wood makes for a fine furniture material but the outstanding qualities wood has means it’s good for far more than just building practical everyday items. In fact, wood is rather popular among artists and has preserved a steady spot in modern culture. It’s good for nature, easily accessible, can be rather affordable and the options for using it are endless.
Some people have gone great lengths to prove the point of wood being such an incredible material that they have spent ridiculous amount of time for creating these outstanding pieces. Not only do these show how far creativity goes, they are so amazing you will have hard time believing they are actually real! Well, believe it or not, here are 15 of the biggest, most incredible and simply mindblowing wood projects ever made.
1. Most Extraordinary Wooden Carving In The World

One fact sums up the greatness of this carving: it’s in The Guiness Book Of World Records! It actually took 4 years to finish and it’s over 40 feet long. And you thought carving a wooden spoon is time consuming! Even better, the whole structure is carved out of a single piece of wood which simply shows how remarkable the creation is.
If to look very closely, you can see it’s not just a random carving. There are hundreds of tiny houses and details, including over 550 tiny people. The art piece showcases the life beside a river and is nowadays called the chinese “Mona Lisa”. Well that’s something, isn’t it?

This is the kind of a wooden sculpture that makes you think whether you really love it or you would be furious if someone gifted this to you. We are going for the first option since to be honest, it looks really cool! 5. Creepy Yet Awesome Sculpture

This. Looks. Awesome. It can easily cause some nightmares but you can’t deny its’ pure awesomeness. 6. You Won’t Believe This Is Made Of Wood

I can’t blame you if your first thought seeing this was “no way is this made of wood!”. Well my friends, it really is. This little creature is made of wood chips. The fine texture of chips allows to replicate the similar fur pattern animals have and therefore create a very life-like sculpture. It looks so cuddly you’d like to hug it!
The devil is truly in the detail. Just look at those whiskers – how real they look! Even the fur direction is fine tuned to make sure it looks exactly like a real groundhog. That’s one rodent you’d love to have at your garden.
7. A Wooden Creation For Majestics

“Daddy, please build me a dollhouse!”. This guy took that wish a bit further and you can see the result. Actually, what you see on the picture is just a glimpse of what these bough houses are really like. In fact, they are as tall as a grown man and have so many details it’s crazy.
The creator of these wooden sculptures is Rob Heard who is known for having a knack for creating such magical houses. One house can take several months to finish and every single staircase leads to a certain room – there are no dead ends. Someone should just give this guy a golden medal already!

Contrary to many other items in this list, this one is actually a practical item that you can play and everybody can order a completely custom made guitar from Doug Rowell who is the genius sculptor behind these awesome guitars. Not only do they look magnificent, every single guitar is 100% unique and there are no copies.

We all know and love the bronze sculptures displaying historic figures in almost every city. This sculpture is actually pretty mesmerizing thanks to one aspect: it’s a chainsaw carving! Now check the details again and think about how handy you are with the chainsaw yourself. Pretty impressive, isn’t it?
